I just watched this on the BBC

As an ex-archaeologist and student geologist, I really enjoyed it. It's about how humanity has influenced the world from a geological perspective. And its not all doom and gloom either, there's a positive bit at the end.

Its on BBC iPlayer so it's region locked to the UK. If you are outside the UK and want to watch it, I guess you'd need to use a VPN.

Would you care to summarize the bit at the end? It would be nice to hear something positive for a change.

So cool that you used to work as an archeologist!

I am a fan of Agatha Christie whose second marriage was to an archeologist we worked on sites in Irak. According to legend she said that the best part of being married to an archeologist was that the older she got, the more he loved her.

Hahaha. The last bit describes how geologists are putting forward new methods to capture carbon and lock it back into the ground, as well as the the Svarlbad Global Seed Vault project.

Wow, that is some serious technology. Humans are capable of such ingenuity. If only we stopped shooting ourselves in the foot, this world might stand a chance.

What a piece of work is a man!
How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty!
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

(You can find a quote for anything in Shakespeare.)
