I never tried it but I always wanted to, just out of curiosity. I always wondered how a complete stranger can stop someone from ctb. What do they even talk about? However I'm very anxious on the phone so I never gathered the courage to call. Plus I'd probably hang up after a minute or two. I can't believe you had a 2 hour long conversation, that sounds very boring and tiring indeed.

What a vicious cycle ...

I imagine if I called them they'd say smth like "oh shut the fuck up, just tell the address so we can send for you people to take you and lock you in a psych ward".

I never talked with them on the phone as I have the same issues.

We have a chatting option that is open from 6 pm until midnight.
So I always use the chatting option as it is very much more comfortable for me.

What they talk about?
Thats up to you.
First they make sure you are safe though so that you put away anything that could harm you.

They mostly end with things you can do to keep yourself distracted at least 1 more night until the next day.

These hotlines in my country are ok-ish..... but honestly, they have no clue how a person who is suicidal feels and thinks. That sucks so much.
There's tons of prejudices, too, like "you have to fight", "nobody has an easy life, we all go through crises".
I was asked several times why I don't just do it. Fair enough but that's a bit insensitive to say on a suicide prevention hotline imo.

bruh
that sounds like "smile a bit more"

and that last part is crazy imo. Like what? they shouldn't be working for a crisis hotline

I stopped calling them because within 15 minutes they would be agreeing with me I should probably kill myself.

Think I'm at the point where I'm bored with them as well, suddenly finding I don't need to talk to people and that I'm not far from a SN attempt
