Discussion Suicide by a gun

This idea popped into my head out of nowhere basically. This would insanely help me because SI would be significantly lower then with hanging, and it would be less painful. I legally cannot obtain a gun yet, but I am a resourceful idiot and I know a lad or two that might get me one. Also, some people in my family own guns but i'd rather not go for that.

My way of shooting would be trough the roof of my mouth, projecting the bullet into my skull.

First off, my cousin. He has a gun of some sorts, but I think it's a smaller caliber and i'm terribly afraid i'd survive. Also, I doubt he would give me a gun so easily.
Second off, my grandfather from maternal side. He has some old, but powerful gun that can literally dislocate your arm if not fired properly. It would be extremely hard for me to obtain it, and I couldn't die peacefully because he would get distraught and whatnot knowing his grandson offed himself with his gun. I do think though, that this one has the highest fatality rate out of all my options.

Alas, I could contact a lad I was in touch before. I bought some cold weaponry from him a couple of years ago. He most definitely would be able to provide me with it, and I would be glad to pay up, but I am afraid of him getting some old, beat up junk that will misfire or not fire properly, and then again i'll survive with a disfigurment.

What is your opinion on this, lads? It just seems a lot easier then hanging and pretty much the only other option I have. Any contribution is great and I thank you in advance.

I am not convinced that shooting yourself in the head is painless. Many cells will still have oxygen, blood, and neurotransmitters. Yes pain is processed by modules in the head but pain is also localized in each cell.

Sadly, this is incorrect. From myself and others here who already have guns, and who have attempted to CTB with them, I can promise you SI is no less strong with guns than with any other method.

As for the pain, it depends on how good your aim is. If you shoot through the roof of your mouth you will blow out your frontal lobe, not die, and it'll probably hurt like hell --for a long time. If you do your research on where and how to aim properly, you will likely never feel the shot that kills you.

Sometimes I have suicidal episodes where I would do anything to get rid of emotional pain. I am hoping to use a situation like that to avoid SI.

Regardless of method, I think that's anyone's only chance at success at beating SI.

The revolver idea seems like a nice one (if playing Russian roulette with it) for people who want to try and trick their SI. However, sometimes the uncertainty may increase SI in certain people, depending on their personality and characteristics. I feel like when I know what to expect and am in control of the situation, then I would be more likely to override my SI, but again just speaking for myself. Personally, I'm going out with a shotgun (when the time and circumstance is right).
