• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This isn't one of the reasons I want to ctb. This is simply an added bonus.

Many times, death is unpredictable and out of people's control. Most people don't get control over when or how they die. Some people do have the luxury of dying peacefully in their sleep, but many people do not.

But with suicide, people get that control. They can choose when they die. And they can choose how they die. Maybe they can't choose their method to the extent that they'd like, but there are many options to choose from. Not everyone will be able to get N or a gun or whatever, but there's hanging (both full and partial), there's SN, the exit bag, jumping, and more.

I just think it is an added bonus to get control over how and when I die. Suicide is really the only way to give you that control.

One bonus we have over other people who die natural deaths is that we know the end is coming and we can thank people one last time. We can tie up loose ends whereas other people can't

Yeah. This makes suicide more appealing than natural death or some kind of sudden death. At least we get the chance to end our life how we want, whether that be on a positive with everyone around us or just disappear without warning.

Its the last bit of control that cannot be stolen or taken from me. That has its appeal by itself. I've also pondered the thought that it is better than having an unexpected death. I'd rather it be on my terms.

I agree with others and yes it's mostly about the control of one's death, as well as dying with their dignity and honor. I do miss the old days of human history where suicide is viewed honorably. (In feudal Japan, in ancient Greece, ancient Rome, etc.)
