I just got a post removed on Reddit by spoiling a minor detail in a book that was published 20+ years ago. Spoiler tags remind me of stupid legal warnings retailers and manufacturers put on their products like "warning: contents hot" on a coffee cup or "may cause drowsiness" on a sleeping pill. If you're so challenged that you need these labels, you shouldn't be using the product.
[Interesting aside - the famous McDonalds coffee lawsuit was actually legit. They miscalibrated their coffee machine to be absurdly hot]
I have "spoiled" a story myself with new books and TV shows. I blamed no one but myself because I chose to browse a fan page. Why can't people take responsibility for their own actions?
