Hi all,

So I was thinking I want my phone data erased after I'm dead. I have both an Android phone and an ios iPad. Can anyone recommend a good software that will automatically delete my entire data and pretty much make my phone and ipad explode once it's confirmed that I'm dead?i can schedule this to happen in maybe 12 hours so that'll be enough time to confirm ctb.The reason I don't want to perform this cleanup before I go is if i don't succeed in ctb I'll be in big trouble.I have authenticators to use for my work etc.I won't be able to login for work, I won't be able to use my bank account, etc etc.
Suggestions welcome.

If you have a recent version of android (my guess is android 8+) all you really need is to restart your phone. All data on your phone is encrypted and is only decrypted after you enter your pin or however you unlock your phone. This means that if you turn off/restart your phone only way to access your data is to know your pin code. Even that is probably overkill. If you lock your phone it should be enough.

Apple devices should be very similar.

Clean your screen first. If you use a code to open, there will be fingerprints over the digits you use. FYI

Looks like I'll have to disable fingerprint. I don't want my family using my corpse's fingerprint to open my phone😌

I've set passcodes for both my iPad and Android, so that should do, right? There shouldn't be any way for anyone to bypass this and get into my devices, hopefully?

You've been watching too many spy thrillers. There are smudge marks over my entire phone🤣

Probably not. The pin code is used to decrypt your data. This is why most phones require you to use pin after restart instead of fingerprint. Restart your phone and if it won't let you unlock it with fingerprint it's this case.

I'm quite sure nobody will do this (unless you're a wanted criminal :))).

On many android phones you can find in settings whether your android phone is encrypted (it probably is. It's quite hard to get unencrypted android phone these days) in settings. Usually it's under "Encryption and credentials" Under "Security and privacy". More info here https://android.stackexchange.com/q...l-if-their-android-device-is-encrypted-or-not

Your provider still keeps data that can be accessed with a court order, at least in US. I'd imagine it's similar in most countries.

https://www.nbcnews.com/technolog/how-long-do-wireless-carriers-keep-your-data-120367
I'm not from the US, but I really doubt anyone would be going through the hassle to obtain a court order for a suicide case. Even if they did, most of the info in the table on NBC you linked is not really relevant:
- Subscriber information - Not relevant
- Call detail records - probably info when and who you called
- Cell towers used by phone - reveals your location
- Text message details - info who and when you texted using SMS
- Text message contents - Probably the only info that could be important. Not retained by most carriers.
- Pictures - Not relevant
- IP session information - Not that important. On it's own it won't reveal that you've used SaSu
- IP destination information - same as above
- Bill copies - Not relevant
- Payment history - Not relevant
- Store surveillance history - Dystopian, but not relevant.
- Service application - Not sure what that means, but doesn't sound relevant.

1000% agree with this^. But, then again, with all the controversy surrounding SN, overzealous prosecutors might like to see if there's anyone to go after for assisting with the suicide. Might hold true for a gun death too in order to see if they can find out where person obtained firearm.
