If I get SN from a lab and they have a certificate mentioning purity, I don't think there is any need for me to personally use strips to verify it or is there ?

A few "suppliers", not labs, were selling SN not that long ago that turned out to be not what they said it was (lesser purity). I'd do my research on the lab you plan on buying it from. See how long they've been in business, how large a company they are, if there are any complaints you can track down to them, that kind if thing. If everything found out seems to indicate legitimacy, I'd probably be confident that their product is as they say. Is the reason you don't want to do an aquarium test on it because you don't want to open the SN and expose it to air? That you plan on saving it for future use?
