Shotgun directly at the heart?

Are there any threads or guidance on shotgun blasts to the chest? I think it would be my preferred method, I keep coming back to it.

The idea of blowing my head off... I just don't like the idea of leaving such a disturbing mess for the responders. Obviously a shotgun blast to heart would be a bloody mess, but it just seems less disturbing than a face being blown apart and mopped up.

Does anyone have insight on this? Is a shotgun blast directly at the heart an instant death? If not, what exactly happens? How long until death?

I imagine there would be difficulty positioning the shotgun correctly to administer the blast, any insight on this?

I don't know, but about 20 years ago I saw one of those faces of death videos (yes, I know some of the instances were faked), but it did contain some actual real world killings. I don't really like that kind of thing - it actually emotionally scarred me as a kid, as I couldn't stop thinking about it for days.

Anyways, your question reminded me of one of the real scenes included. There was some kind of police action in South America, where there were protests going on in the streets. A news guy is filming from behind a truck or something, if I remember right. He's crouched and 2 feet in front of him, a protester comes around the corner and startles a police officer who's holding a shotgun. The police fires right in to the guy's chest, right in the middle where the heart is, with the barrel like 2 inches from the guy's chest. All I remember is the guy not dying immediately - he grabs his chest and says "ayyy yii yii" or something like that. It look very painful and not instantaneous like you would expect.

I have seen a couple videos were they did shotgun to heart and they did not die immediately. They were in a lot of pain, and made noises of pain. It seemed to take a long time to die.

Definitely didn't look like a good time.

People shoot themselves in the head for a reason, so they don't feel anything after they shoot themselves. If you should anywhere other then your head you have the risk of survival and of dying in agonizing pain.

I've seen people put up tarps and such to make clean up easier for the people who will clean up.... maybe that can be your option so it's not as horrible for them.
