so here's what i've come up with:
- i'd hyperventilate myself on the banks of a river until i felt dizzy/faint (i've tried this out, i can do it and it takes me about 2 minutes)
- then i jump into the river face first and hold my breath for as long as possible

my main concern is that i'd sink and it would be difficult to find my body afterwards

it depends how shallow, i don't know exact numbers about this method, but i don't think that it will work with just hyperventilating, this requires either a big lake/ocean where you can't actually go back or a lot of drugs to actually pass out and drown.
i see this as very unrealistic without one or the other, and this is still a very rare method of suicide.

remember that needing to breathe is easily the strongest survival instincts that we have, that's why drowning is both painful and very difficult to achieve.
