Whoever ctb by sepsis a couple days ago.. I think that's the most gnarly way I've seen since I joined. They didn't say where the source was but the amount of bacteria but wow… what a story it was.

Any other wild goodbye threads over the years to share?

Idk, but that's the same person who created the "non methods not to be attempted" thread pinned in the resource section, so it's a little ironic. But if it worked for them, more power to them.

apparently you can order infectious bacteria online from the dark market, not saying that is how they did it but it's a possibility. I'd say that's the craziest one i've come across yet and i've been thinking about it for the past few days.

The bacteria that he used to induce sepsis are almost certainly Clostridium perfringens. He didn't want to name it outright, since it would weigh on his conscience if someone did it because of him, but not only do I think no one even has the knowledge or resources to try this (his situation was exceptional), I also don't care. Still, it is as he says: A natural source that is accessible to anyone, and is mostly harmless, but is incredibly dangerous if allowed to bypass tissue barriers and is injected straight into the bloodstream.

he's been talking about sepsis for a while. it's kind of crazy that he really went through with it this time. i've read some of his posts but never expected him to keep attempting with it, since it sounded really awful and painful.

It sounded like he was brought to his wit's end, and did try everything else possible before settling on that. The way I see it, there's a mental difference between someone who has desperation and suffering in their eyes, and someone who has had all hope and light snuffed from their eyes. I believe he was one of the latter.
And, yes, it is a very unpleasant way to go. It causes severe hemolysis (blood cell destruction) and eventual shock and organ failure.

Thank you for sharing that. I think they said they tried sn and failed but can't find anything about what went wrong.

Gosh, I hope they are at peace.

i really do feel for him. chronic illness is no joke. his profile title being the thing it is also makes it so much more haunting. i hope he's at peace now considering how much pain he was probably feeling during the whole thing.

It also sounds like it's a method where his loved ones won't think it's a suicide. Because I think suicide by sepsis didn't exist until this user.

With his death, everyone would just think it's sepsis. Not that he killed himself

it was a few years ago. she took a very long time to pass out from sn, and called for help iirc.

she hasn't been online since Friday, so I hope she's found her peace, finally. 🖤 she suffered so much.

I saw my late wife die of sepsis shock and it was the most painful experience to witness watching Her die with each passing hour. Until her eventually her heart stopped That was November 13th and I still can't get the image of her face before I left. Eyes rolled the back of her head, Her tongue hanging out and her hands completely blue. I mean if people are wanting to die no matter what the method is that's on them but sepsis is a terrible way to go having to see my wife fade away like she did was something I did not want to see ever in my entire life. I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye She just lost consciousness and had a stroke if one of her lungs collapsed and she just fell down from there. She lasted a day and a half.

I am so sorry that happened. My husband did not die of sepsis but like your experience with your wife, it was sudden and all I could do was stand in the corner of that emergency department room and watch. Though I am glad he is no longer hurting, I will never forget his face when he realized he was leaving this world and there was nothing anyone could do for him.

Maybe or maybe not. At the end of the day, his loved ones and family will think he's not in a right state of mind. Because no one would think to go by sepsis besides this person. Sepsis is a scary and painful way to go. Because of this, his loved ones will say that his mental state caused this, not his physical illnesses
