My psychologist has recommended we try schema therapy which is linked to cognitive distortion therapy, has anyone experienced it and if so, did it help in any way? I'm currently on the CTB/recovery cusp, I have my SN but am willing to give myself another chance. Nothing wrong with delaying the inevitable.

I've done a lot of different types of therapy and was very interested in doing this one. If it were me, I'd want to do it in conjunction with EMDR or an energy psychology technique like TAT or EFT, all of which I found to help me clear a lot of stuff and that stuff didn't come back. NLP, however, for me resulted in some stuff coming back later.

Don't know if this comment helps, but yeah, I would definitely try this therapy if it were me. Wish I had some experience and could say if it's effective or not, but I like the foundational structure of it.
