Discussion Sacrificial death?

I was planning on donating my organs and maybe a blood donate. But is there something more?

Blood and organ donations are the most common way to do such things, as far as I know. I am aware that you can put in your will that you wish your corpse be donated to universities or like, but as for CtBing, I don't know what the law says about that.

Don't even think of sacrificing yourself to the gods. Don't even, trust me. That will hurt.

I'm already donating blood and i'd love to donate my parts, especially now that they are in pretty good condition. Thing is, in order to be usable, they have to be fresh. And if i N2 my ass into oblivion anywhere near the hospital, those poor bastards will work their souls off trying to save me instead harvesting whatever valuable left of me, no matter what kind of paperwork i'd have on me.
But sacrifice? Like, dying in the name of some deity which, if even exists, most probably doesn't give fuck about the sacrifice or people in general? Or for some theatrics for some crazy whackos? No, i don't think so.

If you die from certain poisons or your body is damaged too much you can't donate, and you can't of been dead for too long. Often you have to die in-hospital to have your organs be viable for donation.

Then that is out of my expertise. I am sorry, but I do not want to live with the fact that I caused something like that on the news.

I know that it might sound unreasonable to you, but damn it, I've got enough things in my mind that I can barely sleep through.

Every suicide is an altruistic sacrifice to the community if you are a burden to society. This is the philosophy of senicide and it is a win-win situation. I am old and I don't want to experienc my physical and mental degeneration.

Oh, you mean like form of protest or to highlight certain problem? I have 2 problems with that. First of all - it would have to be done in very "flashy" way to have significant impact on the news feeds. Self immolation, suicide bombing, height drop at some popular tourist attraction. That almost automatically exclude organ donation as viable possibility. Unless you are rich enough to bring Sarcopod to such "flashy" location and hire smoll army that would prevent first responders and such from interfering. Second thing - i haven't found yet the cause worth supporting in such way. Maybe with the exception of aforementioned senicide as i despise being a burden.

There's kinda similar thread started by nintendo64 about donating one's life - i mean, if we ever find a way to transfer life from one person to another, i'd gladly offer mine but given current biological knowledge such thing won't be possible. Excluding organ donation of course which is kind of life transfer, especially when we're talking about some vital organ like heart but that would be helluva problem to execute properly.

You can have your body buried with a tree grown on top of it. It's good for the environment. I honestly believe cemeteries are a waste of space
