I have no friends, no social skills, no formative experiences, never played team sports, never spoke to anyone in class, never learned to flirt, etc.

My childhood was YouTube and being suffocated by my parents, and my adolescence was video games and being suffocated by my parents.

I had a lot of potential. They had the time, money, location, and knowledge needed to give me a good start. I'm neurotypical, healthy, somewhat attractive, and had good grades as a kid. But I'm very socially stunted because they forced me to be a fucking shut-in. People often think I'm autistic or something. I'm not funny and I can't make eye contact. I'm socially stunted.

My fight-or-flight response is very, very sensitive because of all the screaming matches and shit they put me through growing up. I shake in class, and I get nervous around people who look like my parents.

Whenever I try to discuss this, they say I'm psychotic or that it's my fault. They try using therapy talk and BS psychology to says its all just 'generational trauma' or fucking something else. It's absolute fucking bullshit.

They ruined my life. And noone believes me. My extended family thinks its all my fault. I have nothing and no-one.

I'm new here, but I relate to this so much. I too have a lot of potential, to do anything I wanted really. So much for that. I'm definitely no psychiatrist but it sounds a lot like CPTSD, which is what I had. I don't know where you live but if getting in contact with mental health services, EMDR helped me a lot.

I relate also. Except I was beat until my mind split into pieces. The water had already past under the bridge until a psych decided I needed to be forcible shown I had more then one personality. Of course they did that , because I had killed myself once already. So idk how hard I can be on them really. I just know dealing with that is just as traumatic as the event that cause it.

If you are under 30 you can fix this. Just get out into the world. I know that's easy to say, and not so easy for you to do, but if you do it in small steps, gradually attempting more each time, you should be able to master it. There is nothing magical about social sklls. Like anything else, they come with practice - and only with practice.
If you are well over 30, you have more of a problem. Your best option would still be to try what I just outlined, but it will be harder for you to make it work. "Harder" does not mean impossible, but you would struggle.
