Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

1. What kind of knot should be tied at the other end of the rope? A second slipknot or something else?
2. What are some ideal, accessible locations for hanging? I live with others, so I am concerned that it would be noisy if I did it near a wall, such as with those curtain rods. Would it still be noisy if I did partial while at a distance from objects, because of banging into the floor? I have considered using a tree outside but I do not know if there are suitable trees nearby or if someone might see. Any ideas?

A slip knot would work as pan said. I personally think the bowline hitch knot is better for the end that's tied to a structure. It is less likely to come undone even if you pull the rope at an angle. It's pretty simple to tie as well.

Please don't practice or attempt unless you're positive that you want to die. Even practicing is risky. If you tie the rope to the structure, then practice hanging, you could accidentally pass out. This would most likely mean death (if your positioning is sufficient enough). It's best to hold the rope in one hand and wrap it around something while practicing. I personally use my basement structure ceiling beam. I would throw the rope over it and hold the tail end with my hand in case I was to pass out... triggering the vagus nerve is a risk too. Just make sure that if you use the standing method and practice by holding the rope like I suggested, that you have pillows or something nearby in case you collapse..I don't want you to hit your head.

Im sorry that you've made it to this point. Hopefully you find peace and happiness. Feel free to talk with us anytime! Best wishes.
