Hmm, I love algorithms and puzzles so I'll give it a shot, if I can't solve it I'll still state my thought process.

The number of lines is equal to the number of letters in the word so I assume each line contains sufficient information to decode the corresponding letter.

Each line has 1 more character than the previous, does each line depend on the previous?

The letters in each line are always in alphabetical order.

Maybe each letter corresponds to a number and the sum of these numbers modulo 26 is the letter? CDEI... Nope

Is it the difference between the sum of the values? CAADD... Nope

Does each line decode to an 8-bit value? I'm going to need some hints.
