My friend made me aware of this the other day- that even robots procrastinate:

'The Mars Pathfinder robot experienced a phenomenon called thrashing, or priority inversion, while on Mars in 1997:

The robot's scheduling algorithms became overwhelmed and caused it to repeatedly switch priorities, using all of its processing power to decide what to do next. This meant it made no progress on any tasks.'

Lol. Seems kind of funny to me. A robot struggling to prioritize what to do next. My friend thinks they suffer from the same problem!

I'm not so sure really. I think as humans, we likely do know what we should be prioritizing but, we procrastinate on other stuff because we're putting said thing off. That's what I do anyway. I know what's good for me. I just don't want to do it!

The problem with us humans is that we prioritize the immediate dopamine hit of putting off something unpleasant rather than suffering a bit and getting an even bigger dopamine hit of completing a task.

It is annoying and takes a good bit of mental training and discipline to get past. I have put lots of work into it and I still struggle with doing what needs to be done.

This is SO true. I got really good at making myself exercise last year. Even though I hated doing it. Not like it gave me that much of a lift. I swear, I get more endorphin rushes from eating chocolate. Still- I recognised that I felt worse for not doing it and overall, it gave me more energy and made me ache less (weirdly,) so, I'm going to need to discipline myself again.

You've inspired me actually. Reckon I'll force myself to do it now. No time like the present and all that...

Aye! Nice. I'm in the same boat. I was really in shape a few years ago and depression got to me. Definitely going to try and work it all off next year. I miss having a six pack. Good luck to us!
