Apparently you're supposed to be careful about not extrapolating rat behaviors to humans, but I won't because it makes good sense. Don't know if the research is any good either, but the general idea makes sense.
Porn is too vanilla for me now. I feel like I need something else. I don't know what, but I'm sure my subconscious has something nasty and depraved buried deep in there somewhere. Hopefully I never find out what it is.
Well, is porn an actual addiction? I've tested this but truthfully speaking it was more to study it because I wanted to learn about why people watch it, what they're watching and what about it makes the brain so "fascinated" - I had an ex who believed that porn was real and that people really liked it that way. He didn't realize that it's just acting and that most pornography is not an accurate depiction of sex. he couldn't be convinced otherwise.
If you're just bored it might be entertainment in some kind of way.
redirect the attention to something else more productive?
I don't need visual stimulation, my brain is always generating erotically charged images & scenarios. A lot of them aren't even filthy. You know there's something really wrong with you when just thinking about a guy's big fingers or stubble is enough to give you a raging boner at 40.

Damn, that kinda sounds like torture to be so easily turned on. But on the plus side to be that functional at 40 has to be healthy right? (Without the need of drugs, alcohol or Viagra)

Hypersexuality/compulsive sexual behavior is torture. It's a lot like OCD. Constant sexual thoughts & an irresistible urge to act on them. The non-PC terms for it are satyriasis (& Don Juanism lol) in men & nymphomania in women. I suppose I should be grateful I'm not turned on by violent & gross porn (I'm scared of it, tbh) & that I've never hurt anyone (too many guys wanna be hurt for real by someone who looks like me these days, it's fucking disturbing). I'm certainly grateful that my bf knows I love him even though I still need to masturbate too much & occasionally fuck other guys (it's not like it stops me from slobbering all over him every single day). It's all quite humiliating & time-consuming.
