I mention this in my thread discussing the afterlife but, assuming materialism is true, the implications of a cyclic universe on your consciousness is essentially the same as with a non-cyclic universe. After death, the mind is destroyed, you are destroyed. The version of you in the next cycle is not you, even though it is configured in exactly the same way as you. So there's nothing inherently scary about a cyclic universe.

The root issue is whether or not our minds persist after death, and the possibility of it experiencing punishment, whether in the form of bad karma or agony in hell.

Similar in principle, but different in that in the teleportation thing the reconfigured body retains all your memories and previous conscious states so there is room to argue for a continuity of experience.

We don't know, but what we suffer is a thousand times worse. I believe in nothingness, just like before I was born, remember? NO. Just like you kill a bug or whatever. We're here to live and suffer. In the end, there will be eternal peace.

All but all lamentations on that topic can only be personal convictions, beliefs and more or less well-founded hypotheses - nothing more than that.

Think about the time before you were born, there was simply nothing. Or think about the time you're asleep without having a dream, there's simply nothing it's essentially a time skip.

I know it's pretty much impossible to comprehend the definition of absolute nothingness, but that's the most reasonable answer. Even though It might seem impossible.

Yeah it would be perfect, but I believe that my experience in this universe is somehow engraved and constant + this theory that suggest that universe is a loop which is scary, people here try to comfort me but I still not sure
