Does this happen to any of you? Because it certainly does with me. I cannot count how many times I have been turned away from and abandoned as a result of this (relationships, friendships, etc.) . It makes me not want to trust or have faith in anyone anymore. What am I supposed to do? Lie and pretend to be something that I am not?

I've definitely been dropped as a friend for being "too much" (I'm...a mess?) and it sucks super hard. A lot of people are super self centered so there's definitely a point where some would rather their friend lie and act alight vs. having to acknowledge someone else's negative feelings if that makes any sense.

Idk. People suck.

Exactly. People just want to focus on themselves, they usually don't want to deal with other people's problems unless they get something out of it.
Even family will turn the other way, or dismiss your issues. Until you're gone, then they might wish they paid you mind. Or at the very least, that's what they will say to save face.

Yeah, I don't bother trying to make friends anymore but when I was younger it happened to me a lot. I used to have quite a lot of friends and I've only got one left. I don't blame them though, I couldn't deal with me either.

Me too, though. Hard to deal with myself.

tbh i feel like there comes a point when ppl are at their lowest and they text their friends but eventually they get tired of texting them back because they bore and wear them out and they get put on ignore and theres really no way out of the cycle, their friends text them back out of pity but aren't actually intersted in talking to them. its sad bc the thing is that if u dont interest the other person then theey wont want to be your friend. ppl only care what others offer them. ppl may pretend to care but i dont see ppl being really patient with their depressed friend bc most just leave them behind eventually.

This just happened to me. For the second time. After a careful overview I can't find anything wrong my former friend's side other than my being "too much." And I don't blame him.

Still feels like shit, though.

Same problem. Due to my mental illness sometimes people think I'm distant.
