On the topic of goodbye threads

I've interacted with a few, and sometimes, when the person cancels (I feel relief on the inside, tho don't state it).. they later delete their thread, with only traces remaining in Firefox's cache or potentially hiding on the disk, never to be seen by other users.

In the unlikely event I'd CTB (ok, unlikely under standard circumstances... there are nightmarish circumstances, that.. if they occur CTB might be a to-do list item), I'd post a thread, something like "One way bus trip, goodbye?"... and if I'd cancel, I'd edit the title if possible to "One way bus trip cancelled" instead of deleting it... if not, I'd post an update ofc

I wonder, if I may ask... has anyone here posted and removed a goodbye thread, was it due to missing the bus due to error, cancelling CTB, or smth else?

(don't worry, I'm not going to run scripts to check for changes in thread size, tho search engine caches have long retention periods, companies use difference checking to track changes in content and learn how to change content as effectively as the highest ranked sites)

For me, the point of my goodbye thread wouldn't be to say goodbye... but rather to post the details of the method I chose, so that IF successful and I don't return, people would know a method that worked and it might help them. IF I was unsuccessful for whatever reason, hopefully I would be able to come back and post an update to say why it didn't work... again, to be informative to others.

There would be no other reason for me to say "goodbye" to anyone.

Yes. I think there was one yesterday that was posted by mistake i don't know really.

When I post my goodbye, I'll know it's the right time, and you'll know I'm dead for sure if something I have timed pops up confirming it. It all revolves around how suicide can't be rushed, and if it is rushed that's when you get regrets. Other people have their own reasons of course, but that's my opinion about it.
