As a rule, what will happen to my corpse, assuming it's found in a reasonable timeframe?

I was thinking about that too. It is cheaper to disappear rather than have a funeral,cremation, etc.
It might be a good idea to buy a small boat and move away from the coast a few tens of miles, tie yourself fully to the boat, drink N/SN/whatever and make a hole in the boat. But again, even this idea is pricy.
Even an old wooden boat will cost at least a few hundred.

Presumably, in most countries, the Government handles basic burial or cremation of those without next-of-kin to pay for it. Knowing where you are would help with a more precise answer.

Pretty much every state will pay for a cremation if you have no next of kin, family, or significant other willing to do so. They then try to contact someone to get the ashes. If no one picks up the ashes they have a "graveyard" of sorts where they will dump your ashes.

A lot places will not take the body of someone who died my suicide. Most of the major universities in the country where I live will not

That's true. There are probably a lot of stipulations. However, depending on what is OP is afflicted with, and the condition in which his body is upon death, I thought it might be something to consider.
