Normally it won't take more than 5 minutes to put one to sleep, can even be faster than that, as long as the right quantity was taken.
That's determined by the person's bodyweight.

Someone on here did fail with N. He took it hated the taste left it and his dog drank it and died. So yes it worked for the dog.
