Hello, I need some advice. Do you think Mylanta liquid antacid is suitable for SN? Can it mess with the SN when you combine the two? Should I try to find something else? Mine says ultimate strength so I don't know if its too powerful for SN either. Would appreciate your thoughts.

Lastuser - the PPH says SN may be potentiated with H2 antagonist "cimetidine", such as Tagemet, which in US is over an over the counter gastric acid reducer. I asked google about Mylanta and it says: Famotidine, Mylanta, Pepcid, Pepcidine. Description. Famotidine is a histamine H2 antagonist that inhibits stomach acid production. So that is a start in your research.

Thank you for your advice. Are you suggesting to use Tagemet instead of Mylanta? Or do they both do the same thing and it doesn't matter? I apologize if I am asking you too many questions, I just don't want to mess this up.

Tagamet is a H2 Blocker which reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes. Mylanta is an antacid which neutralises the acid already in your stomach. Personally, I would use Mylanta as it's faster acting.

Alright, I will use the Mylanta then. In the SN thread that Stan made, he recommended using double the dose of whatever antacid you use. With Mylanta this might not be necessary because of how powerful it is. Would you suggest taking double or is a normal dose enough?

Double dose. It will do you no harm and be more effective.
