it depends on what the situation is.
sometimes the answer is therapy or meds. self work
sometimes its a change of scenery. out of an unpleasant situation.
theres a lot of different paths one can take to change their situation.

an example might be someone thats in an abusive situation can take all the meds and do all the therapy work possible, put until theyre removed from whats bringing them down, nothing can help.

maybe theres an online place they can try. i know you might feel questionable exposing them to this site (just having to trust they aim for recovery and not reading methods). i know theres a place (healthfulchats.org) where they have different group chats (mental and physical). idk how useful it would be but maybe it can be a starting point for finding something else.

i have try to get him into a new hobby, doing new things and encouraging him to do art because he like to draw a lot, but due to him just being sad all day he feel unmotivated to do things, am not sure how to get his motivation up

for now is impossible for him to removed himself from what bringing him down because is mostly revolve around his family and him not being able to see himself having a good job or a clear future, both of us also broke so it make things a lot more complicated

a bit too late but he is already on this site, just on another section, i was thinking, if i want to have a shot at helping him i should make an account to check on his new post so i could know how bad things is turning in case he doesn't tell me and i also want to checking out the resources and ask questions

thanks you for your advice and help, i will tell him to give the second site a try and i could provide more information if it necessary
