there isn;t a lot of media that represents sh well, if at all. profit-driven corporations tend to avoid minefields like this; as the topic is inherently polarizing. if you're open to manga recs, that leaves you with more options.

I'm actually reading the novel right now lmao!! ^^ I'm halfway through so he's not showing those symptoms of depressions yet, but I can't wait to get to those parts! Charlie is a very relatable character, I like him a lot :3333

I'd love some manga recs! Xx I just hope I'd be able to read them online!

P.s, you're so right that media doesn't exactly represent sh too well. Most I got is headcanonning characters or making ocs w that problem đź’”

"asper kanojo" by hagimoto souhachi, "koko wa ima kara rinri desu" by amase shiori, "a lollipop or a bullet" by sakuraba kazuki and sugimoto Iqura. you can easily find them on manga reading sites; but check trigger warnings before reading.

i do this too lol; even when i know it's out of character for them. sometimes i wonder if it's actually okay -- especially with characters that bring me comfort. wouldn't it somehow 'stain' them for me? i guess that says more about me than i'd like.

I saw a song made by a singer called pink once brought out a song that depicted a self harm scene. It shows the person cutting them self and then laying in the bath tub with blood driiping from the actors wrists. The facial expression indicated signs of both being relieved but also in pain as well. I used to watch it but it appears to have restrictions put on it because of the self harm scene.
