Venting Messages or facts twisted or exaggerated

Been seeing this a bit recently. A certain piece of information is given and is then slightly changed or altered, this continues till a new 'fact' emerges. I see it quite a lot regarding methods where the ones that are listed in the PPH in some threads are considered painful or unreliable. World shortage of N and other messages or factoids that are not helpful for those looking to exit. Is it just me seeing that?

Can you give some examples? I'm not sure what you mean, or who you perceive to be making the "alterations".
