I've never known exactly what my mental illnesses are (or lack thereof). I went to therapy for some time a while ago but I didn't get any diagnosis and really I was feeling worse with each session. Nowadays I don't want therapy because I don't want to be better.
But I think that this year I've developed bpd and it's been intensifying over the past 3-4 months. I don't know whether it's bpd because I can't self diagnose, but I also can't get diagnosed because of certain ongoing personal and financial issues.
I really wanna know as soon as possible though. Is this bpd or am I just spiraling into low functioning depression with avoidant attachment issues, tell me doc
I'll probably try to get diagnosed during spring or summer, I really do hope it's bpd

So, hey. Sorry you are coping with symptoms and that you have financial issues (can relate)

I have a family member with BPD. The main thing that helps people in general is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy- DBT. There are workbooks you can get with those skills that might help. Check the resources in the recovery section on this site, I think they have one

I hope you don't have BPD!

I'm not sure how old you are, but usually BPD symptoms appear / get worse in the early-mid twenties, if you're around that age group then it could be possible. Of course, I'm not a psychologist so don't take my word for it.

My understanding based on what you're saying is that a BPD diagnosis would make you feel more justified in your choice to ctb / not pursue recovery, since BPD is incurable and has a very high suicide rate. I hope you can get answers and put that ambiguity to rest, I guess just be careful not to rely too much on a diagnosis to decide that for you. Your suffering and reasons are valid right now regardless of what the medical system calls it, especially since psychs can be just as quick to misdiagnose people too. Good luck on pursuing that diagnosis.
