folks

I've been very ill for a while and that's been hard on me. I've done my research and acquired a method to leave... but something in me istelling me it's not time just yet.

so I've been on this journey of self discovery... and I've learned so much about what doesnt work... and part of it is I'm sick and part of it is that I feel disconnected.

I don't really like drinking and that's kinda a shame because bars are full of people. What do you do to engage with people? Like if you live far from your family and friends where do you meet new people?

Look for places of daily or weekly socialization: study groups, team sports, any classroom course of interest, religious groups, etc.

When I lived far from my hometown I made some friends in an acting course that I attended, for example. And I even had a brief romance with one of the students. Everything can happen.

Poetry readings, hanging out at the tracks, fishing spots, you might want to try something new.

Volunteer work can be useful because the task at hand can fill the awkwardness that can grow when meeting strangers.
