Haven't done much research, but my plan is to go into the forest and find a good, sturdy and climable tree and then measure the distance from a thicker branch to the ground for later. I'm planning for a 2-2,5 metre drop height to ensure I break my neck (I'm 72kg). The rope will need to be longer to account for the hangman's knot and the end I tie to the branch. Then I'll cut the rope ready, and then on the day I'll set it up, have vodka coke (maybe a smoke too) to take the edge off and then do it. I'll set up a delayed message to the authorities. Any insight on my method? Rope type, diameter? thanks

There's a reason why professional hangmen had to be trained extensively and had to consult multiple diagrams and tables before performing long-drop hangings on people. You'll have to research extensively, but a failed long-drop where the neck bones are not broken can be incredibly torturous to you in your final moments. It could lead to your decapitation or to the rope breaking and you suffering severe injuries and permanent brain damage, if your measurements are not suitably precise. I'd consult documents (rope length / height and weight). I would also truly consider similar methods that are easier to execute such as the night-night method, or partial suspension hanging. Get a strong, supple rope (the ones used to moor boats are quite good, but you need to find a rope that you can knot too.

Do you want to snap your neck instantly? If it doesn't snap, you probably won't pass out immediately and it will likely be quite painful.
I believe compressing the carotid arteries requires at most 5 kilograms of force; any significantly higher force is redundant and only causes more pain and a sense of suffocation. However, the advantage of full suspension is a faster death and a lower chance of survival.
