Don't you find it odd that most animals die so easily? Even as pets they only live a few years, maybe a couple decades at most. Exceptions exist such as whales, jellyfish and tortoises, but mostly, animals don't have a long life at all.
And here we are. We the damn humans living up to the 100s (mind you, we are animals too). Even when lifespan was shorter prehistorically it was because of high death among young people bringing down the average. Us adults are painfully good at surviving. SI and perception of pain only makes this worse.
So if we live so long, why the actual f*** do we have to deal with so much mental suffering, painful physical conditions, emptiness, boredom?
If you think about it, life requires very specific things. We need blood, minerals, right temperature, water, a heart beating for us, respiratory muscles on auto mode, etc. Non-living things are infinitely more common than living beings in this unverse. So why is dead so hard to achieve? Or better yet, why do we care so much about stuff that won't matter in 80+ years? Our brains are wired so crudely.
When I think of my family I feel bad cause they will have to deal with my loss (if I ever ctb), that's why I try not to think about it. Instead, I imagine myself in the mountains, or watching the moonlight just passing away from natural causes (eg. my heart stops beating forever). My dream is to drift off and never have to worry about anything ever again.
But noooo, we can't have any of that. That's why there's a whole forum on how to ctb. I still appreciate it tho. Thanks everyone.
