After years of struggling with Dr's over ptsd, anxiety and depression today i finally got to see a specialist at a complex care centre!
For the first time in a long time I feel like someone listened to me. It took me having a melt down and saying that i felt like I'd have to drive my car into a bridge before someone took me seriously and actually realise how bad I feel. She's putting me on lithium, im kinda worried andI hope the side effects don't suck as much as people say. In also dreading coming off my amitriptyline which isn't compatible.

Hey there! Congrats on finding a qualified professional, I know they can be hard to find sometimes heh. I've been on Lithium for a couple years. Unfortunately, I did have quite a few side effects when initially starting it— Most of it was dizziness/lightheaded feeling, as Lithium can potentially make you become dehydrated. However, these side effects faded over time and I don't have any of them anymore. These side effects may appear if your dose of Lithium gets changed though. I really think it's helped me, though, so I hope all goes well for you :)

Getting the dosage right can be tricky. You may have to put up with side effects until you find the right level for you.
