I used to daydream a lot. I used to act out my daydreams. I used to have imaginary conversations. I used to stay alone previously. But six months ago I shifted to a shared accommodation with roommates . So I can't act out my daydreams. Also I started an antidepressants which has curbed my daydreaming, it has made it less intense.
I miss it a lot.

You physically engage into it?
Sounds very interesting, never tried.
I daydream a lot too, but mostly in my mind and my body stays in a catatonic state, sometimes I even drool a little bit lol.
Can't you act on it by say, writing, drawing or pretend you're meditating?
If you need movement maybe some kind of performing arts.

Actually for example if I am having an argument in a daydream then I would actually argue as the character. It was spontaneous.And it gave such a nice dopamine rush. I could try writing but don't think it will give the same rush.

i felt this. i love to pace around my room, laughing to myself and being enthralled by a daydream. it's not real, but it triggers the same emotions you'd get from recalling positive memories. i can't exactly talk to myself and reenact my daydreams anymore because... well that'd be alarming and the walls in my house are paper thin.

I could try writing but don't think it will give the same rush.
i write my daydreams! i've been doing this (albeit very on and off) for 5-6 years now. i think the results are super mixed for maladaptive daydreamers; some don't get that rush, but for some it gets them even more invested in their stories. i'm not only in the latter (writing enriches them even more, because once it's all out on paper, i can further develop it and spot plot holes/inconsistencies. once i do that, i get better ideas than before... does that all even make sense?), but this is just a better use of your time than daydreaming is. hell, you could genuinely surprise yourself and end up being a good writer! or further develop your skills.

whatever the case is, i do wish the best for you. i hope the creativity starts flowing for you again and you get an appropriate way to channel that energy 🫡

honestly same, like i have quite a lot of dpdr issues too, and those intense real feeling daydreams are some of the best times i have, getting lost in my own head living my fictional world, it's so addictive and honestly can even feel better than reality to me

Maybe come up with some lousy made up explanation just to shut up people.

You shouldn't be ashamed to do things you enjoy just for the sake of other people if that only concerns you. The best path to freedom is the art of not giving a fuck to what other people think.

I must say I'm inclined to practice this active form of daydreaming myself, as I understand the rushy feelings it brings too.
