Interesting concept. I really like it to describe the deaths of others. There's a story in my culture that goes as such:
The people cried as the boat left the harbor, and the Rabbi spoke: "why do you cheer for the boat that is arriving and cry for the one that is leaving? The arriving boat could hold cruel pirates for all we know. But the boat that is leaving has come and done it's part, lived a wonderful life, and left. Let's celebrate the good life we know that boat had, rather than mourn."
