I doubt it would get legalised in this dreadful pro-suffering country. The UK is sadly very anti-suicide, it's beyond disgusting how it's not already legalised. It's unacceptable to me how assisted suicide isn't legalised for everyone, everywhere, access to such should be the most basic human right.

I would sign the petition but I'm from the US. Can I still sign it?

I doubt it'd get legalised here too and, on the super rare chance that it does, it'll be very likely that most of us wouldn't be eligible for euthanasia as they'd just make the requirements so strict to where we couldn't access it

I expect it will come in eventually for those with terminal/chronic illness. The elderly and those who the government aren't making money off of anymore. Even if it is introduced- and at least it would be a start, not sure I want to have to wait for things to be that bad before I leave. I don't really see why it should be up to a few separate doctors to agree my life was shit enough to go. I do agree with it being regulated but I doubt it will ever be available to someone like me in my current state. I suspect many of us will still have to risk home grown methods if we want out on our own terms.

I have absolutely no confidence in the UK legalising it any time soon, certainly not for the mentally unwell either.

The UK is an odd mixture of a Classist society and a Nanny State: the establishment will not want us mere plebs being able to off ourselves, especially if we still have economic potential.
