To be honest i thought it was highly restricted already - but just seen news that Turkey has now banned cyanide after a spate of suicides linked to poverty- it's so sad that anyone should have to do that due to economic desperation.. No one should ever have to be in the position that money is the reason why :( Mind you I say that- and yet many of my own lifelong problems have always been linked to financial troubles, those that have never faced it would I feel find it hard to understand the impact it can have on every aspect of life though.

I think financial stress is not just a common reason for becoming suicidal, a financial crisis is often what finally precipitates the act.

I can believe it. It's just so ...well unfair...to put it in very basic language - can't think of a more articulate way to word it right now. So the government bans cynaide, I wonder what they could do to perhaps address the problem of the economically disadvanged?! :/

i'm sure that banning cyanide will make those poor people problems dissapear, i'ts so obvious!

seriously, why governments have to do this all the time? suicide is a symptom, not the real problem. banning cyanide just means more hangings, people jumping from high places, or even shitty ineffective methods being more common.

this is just depressing.

Turkey doesn't seem like a place where you can easily get rid of something by banning it.
And yes, all those suicides in India related to domestic violence and poverty...sickening.
