I went for my interview today at 9:30- I was presentable, smart and friendly. The interview is tomorrow. I got the wrong day. This is why I feel doomed. The lady there was very nice (she already rearranged it due to a scheduling on her end) and said she understands the confusion and to come back tomorrow and was profusely apologising. They seem so keen to have me in for an interview but I feel so shit. I got let go from my last job so I need this job. I feel horrible. This is just a silly vent but I keep messing things up.

Don't feel like shit you aren't shit shit just happens and at least she apologized meaning she probably felt like it was her fault . I would just go in tomorrow saying sorry about the mix up and continue on . Good luck with the interview tomorrow

You ARE an intelligent soul with a warm and kind heart, as that is what I picked up straight off the bat reading this.

If anything, it will make you stand out in a positive light as being human.

When you go in for the interview, hold your head high with confidence, and with your personality and smarts you will be great!

GO GET THEM! You are a WINNER and never ever feel like anything but proud and confident, just not brash.

Lots of luck and you WILL get the position if you want it, go in with that attitude.

Walter.

I second @heavysnow and @whywere. Things like this happen all the time. Nobody got hurt. If anything, being there just showed how important this job is for you and how committed you are. So don't worry. As Troy Hawke would say, "Shoulders back."

Channel all those worries towards preparing for the interview (reading about the company, the role you are applying for, consider possible questions that will come up and your answers, new haircut if needed, etc.) and it will all go well.

Here is little something to cheer you up:

It may have been a "mistake", but it shows you're eager for the job. You're going to have shown up twice once you do the real interview. This is a good thing for them to see.

Don't feel bad, these things happen - I've lost count the number of times I done stuff like this.

Seems like lovely staff, hope the interview goes well!

Best of luck on the interview tomorrow! ^_^ If they ask, spin it positively by saying that you're so eager for the job that you showed up a whole day early! :) hehe~

Thanks so much ❤️ it all went OK. There was about 5 of us interviewing for various roles and I had some competition. I guess we'll see!!

ב''ה,
This is another of those One Weird Trick things businesses are doing to gauge commitment and check for red flags in applicant reactions.

That said they'll practice on everyone even if they're just doing this to promote internally anyway. Job searching is expensive.

I hope the interview went well! And hey, it's much better to show up a day early than a day late and miss the whole interview. Showing up a day early hurts no one but yourself, really. Missing the interview due to having the wrong day would be a whole other level of messing up.

Anyway, best of luck - hope you get this job!! I'm also unemployed and in the process of job-hunting, and it's absolutely soul-sucking. I hope you're able to get out of this situation soon.
