Slavoj Zizek mentioned a very weird bible quote in his newest text.
Luke 14:26 ESV
"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple."
If we hate our lives, does this mean Jesus loves us? Okay enough blasphemy for today. I read this quote is often misunderstood. The original word for "hate" had a different meaning to that time. It should emphasize a huge difference in the love for God and the love for loved ones. The love for God must really be extreme compared to literally everything else.
