Is a scarf good enough to hang?

I'm thinking about partial suspension off a door. I'd have to tie multiple scarfs together. Would this work or is it took risky?

Kate spade used a scarf to a doorknob. And others have used it I csnt remembr their names. So it is possible but I dont know the logistics of it. I'm hoping one day I get it right with my belt
