I am trying one last time to fix my problems with surgery. If it works I think I'm done. I can't wait years for this related lawsuit to pay off. As the surgery date draws closer I feel that much more fucked. Only good thing I got at my disposal is all the really high bridges where I live. I have fought this for over three years. It's hard for me to believe it's all over just like that after a fuckup in a hospital. I really wanted to do so much and did so before I turned 30. Now I am sad about everything that I've lost from my professional to personal life. Anyone in a similar situation with some advice? Thank you.

I've always said money would fix all of my problems but that's without a truly debilitating disease, more just really tough roadblocks like severe ADHD/OCD/possible autism. Money can buy tons of freedom, fun, ways to pursue passions, help other people if you want...but it really just depends on what this disease is doing to you.

If money can cure you or at least greatly improve your quality of life then yes I believe life is worth living. I have been struggling with debilitating illness for 15 years. If I had money for treatment I would not ctb.Last edited:There is a time it would have made the difference for me. I am broke and cannot afford decent healthcare and a tolerable life. All because of doctors ruining me. But now I don't know. I don't know if I could even buy enough stability. I think I'd try for a while...and help as many others as I could if I was filthy rich....but I don't think I could last long term regardless. But having money always is better than not. It doesn't mean life will be good...but not having it guarantees a lower quality of life/care.

I wish the surgery works out for you. You have to place your trust in the surgeon(s) and understand whatever happens might not work out but maybe it will. Money is nice to have if it works out obviously. How much the pain from a debilitating disease and how it prevents you from having a good life is arguable; depends on the individual. GL

Most countries are like this. Poor people have less opportunities, and in many countries it is much worse than the us. Except maybe some few european countries.

It depends, 3 years isn't that long imo, i'd stick it out longer, i've been down for 20 years straight. Disease has crippled me and left me isolated, broke and alone. I don't come by suicide easily though, it's difficult for me, death does seem to solve everything and is the end point for everyone.

I was afraid to be the first to say it but I agree...3 years is not very long but we don't know your whole story and we don't know how bad you are suffering or what your capacity to tolerate suffering is. If it's just a few years of health problems and you have money to fix it I think you should try to live.

sounds like you live in America where you have to be a gazillionaire to pay for health care. Is there any way you could move, at least for a short while, to a place you don't have to pay that?

For me, no.
No amount of money (at the moment at least) can fix my problems, and even with all that money and the things I could do with it, I wouldnt be able to enjoy it.
Assuming that your suicidality isn't caused by financial burden/restraints, I feel that having good health (both physical and mental) is a prerequisite in order for money to have any significant, positive impact on your life.

no. I would rather be poor but in good physical and mental health than rich and in bad health.Health is wealth man... I hope you'll be alright, but if not, can't you just pay someone to help you? someone to set up a helium setup for you or something. Pay a vet 100k to give you some nembutal, to take the risk and keep his mouth shut. Money buys comfort, unless you want to leave it to the fam ofc.
