So my therapist is signing me up for intensive dbt (did I remember that right?). What is this? To be more specific how does it differ from non intensive? Is it as scary as it sounds? Am I that broken the first time I go to get help they go straight to antipsychotics and intensive therapy?? (ok that last one was a bit rhetorical but if you want to include as to whether or not you feel that's normal, that's cool too):heart:

After doing a little bit of reading yesterday I think it just means more often. Something like 2 sessions a week or something.

Just thought I'd add this in case someone was curious or knew the actual answer or wanted to add more to it.

Are you doing an intensive course? That could mean like a short period of time, cramming a lot of skills into a shorter timeframe. Or it could mean going to classes more than once a week again depends on the amount of weeks. Tbh DBT usually ppl see as "intense" bc the programs are like 6-12 months along (at least in my experience). But really its like ur learning a new skill, or going to the gym, you gotta do it repeatedly to build a habit so you get a bunch of worksheets and homework and it means that ur talk therapy (if u do that too) gets ~freed~ up to talk about your life rather than just constantly learning skills all the time.
