i hate myself and want to die

Since I left my parents' house, who were abusive and never respected me, I started working, but even so, it was in part-time jobs that paid less because I needed to be at university, and I ended up having to get into debt because the money wasn't enough. Now I have a degree and am working freelance, and there's all this pressure to be successful, and I just can't cope with it all. To make matters worse, my mom made a big purchase on my credit card, and when I asked her to pay it back, she said she didn't remember and that I was trying to take money from her. Now I'm drowning in debt trying to support myself because I'd rather die than go back to my parents house, but it's horrible. Everyone thinks I'm so responsible, but I feel like a complete fraud.

I feel completely alone in the middle of this shit and I think it would be better if I ctb. It seems like all my money goes to paying debts and even buying food is difficult, and I have no one else to help me. The only things that kept me going were my cat, but she died three months ago, and my boyfriend, but deep down, I think if I died it would be one less thing for him to worry about, since he always sees me sad and gets worried. I just didn't want to be such a coward and end it all right away.

I know the feeling hun!! My truck has been repossessed.. my account is overdrawn by almost $900 .. cell phone service is shut off .. although I did this all intentionally in preparation to CTB, being in this situation sucks.

I can't wait until my blissful escape.

I really feel for you as someone who is drowning in medical debt and still has more to come.

Debt is like a curse , once you get into it, it's so hard to get out, especially when necessities are also so expensive nowadays.

I feel you but you're young mentioning university.

I'm 36m broke without a dollar to my name, in debt, living back in my moms house jobless for three years.

If you ever feel bad just think you're not as bad as some people and you have time to correct things - someone like me is screwed.

This wasn't to make it about me but to provide you hope when you feel the lowest - there are huge losers like me to make yourself feel better comparatively.

Are you sure she even made the purchase? Can you dispute it as a fraudulent purchase then? Even if it was her, credit cards are supposed to protect ypu against fraud.

Some people kust choose tp default or declare bankruptcy.

You could also call your credit card company, say you can't afford the full payment right now, and either they lower your payments for a while or you're not sure what will happen. Don't tell them you'll default because that could have legal impact allowing them to say you're planning tk violate your contract. Just heavily imply it and imply that if they report you to credit card companies you'll stop paying. Statements like "If the payments dtay so high, I don't know what will happen" may be followed with "what do you mean" by their rep and do not clarify what you mean. Just say I dont know. They will want you to say you intend to not pay, so don't do it. You can also say "Im trying to preserve my credit rating and am working hard to do that. If this gets reported in a way that lowers my credit, ill really start to question why i am working so hard and im not sure what will happen." But just be careful with this, they could cancel your card also and demand the debt be repaid, so if you want to negotiate, be willing to just walk away from paying. If it's an unsecured debt, ultimately they can't do that much. They could sue you, but if you dont have assets, then you can always declafe bankruptcy and walk away. Just make sure if you do this you are okay with where you are living, because it coukd tank your credit score. I would also look up info on negotiating with cresit card companies before calling.

Torn between fixing and ending my life

This hit hard because I am in a similar situation.

Just got hit with credit card bill that sent me spinning. Car insurance and registration both came due as well as some unexpected expenses popping up. This is on top of owing money on a vehicle that I can't drive because the electrical system failed and created more problems. I'm also paying off another loan that I took last year to cover unexpected expenses. Piled on top of this is the increasing cost of living that is hitting everyone in the US now.

Trying to be responsible with paying bills and repaying loans but the mountain gets higher every month
