Maybe this is stupid of me to think and surely many people think this means i am not ready because of it but... the trought of letting a disgusting corpse bloated and yellowish behind it's so terrifying... even with the SN method apparently the body would get ugly... i wish there was a way to die and look like i am just sleeping... or maybe just disappear, my body disappear.

I find it so dehumanizing the corpses photos on internet. I looked just to see what i would like if i died in determined method but all that people, after suffering so much are now exposed in their ugliest state, naked and rotten. I feel so bad, i don't want this to happen with me. The way the world works it's so cruel. I wish i never was born. Physical body is really a curse.

For me it is really easy not to care about that sort of thing. I'm not meaning to diminish your feelings about it... just, from my perspective... if I am successful, then I will be dead and not care. Even if somehow there is an afterlife, I will still not be part of this reality anymore so I will not care.

I agree with dejected, whatever I look like will be left to whoever is working and disposes of my corpse. I'm sure they won't care much either, it's just my staff who will see my corpse besides the medical team that will pick it up. I don't care if staff see me dead, they never really treated me like I was alive, anyways.

I have seen people that died in their sleep, peacefully.
They did not look good.
Once we stop functioning, we loose those qualities that make us look good.
The funeral home does more than dust us with some peach colored powder to freshen us up.
Don't worry about it.

I feel the same way but unfortunately death is ugly. Some worse that others. I think that is why I like the idea of cremation instead of my corpse rotting in the ground .

Thank you, this comment made me feel better about it...

The fact of the matter is that everyone who dies (and doesn't get cremated) isn't going to look too good for too long, no matter how they die, especially after they're in the ground for a while. Death is the great equalizer in that regard.

If I should happen to die before I ctb, I want to be cremated, and ashes spread in the woods. If I ctb, I want to be in an area in the woods where my body isn't found any time soon.

I actually wish we could go back to the olden days of being buried in pine boxes that allowed our remains to dissolve and be eaten by the worms and bugs and our bodies would decompose back into the Earth.

Consider, all the things we talk about for the climate... but nobody talks much about how for a very long time we have been cremating or burying people in containers that keep their bodies from decomposing back into the Earth... so over time more and more of our environment is being sealed off from everything else. All the elements in our body that don't go back to the Earth again... at some point that has to take its toll.

There is such a thing in the US. It called a "green burial". Not many cemeteries offer it but I'm sure it will become more popular in the future.

I have heard of this. I really wish it was the standard. I mean, if you are an atheist like me then going back to nature should be fine... and if you are religious, it should be a good thing to consider going back to where you came from in body while your spirit carries on elsewhere. Seems like a win-win all around to me and I wish more people would opt for it.

Guess I'm fucked then. But honestly, I get what you're saying, there's a strange kind of beauty in the different, even grotesque, states of decomposition,
I don't mean that in some sick or disrespectful way.
I just believe there's something visually powerful in how every person looks when they pass, especially those who pass in ways that feel unnatural or outside the norm.

suicide doesn't even feel like an 'irregular' death anymore it's common, Still, I think the whole point, or the impact, is that it makes people feel something good, bad, uncomfortable anything. It's like the physical state becomes an expression, like ones pain is finally being acknowledged.

I know that's a controversial thing to say, and maybe even wrong. But i just don't know how else to put it.
