I met someone when I was a teenager. We never became close and lost contact pretty soon after. a few years passed but two years ago I randomly remembered them and reached out through the old contact I had from years ago not knowing if they'd respond. They did and we became so close. We talked almost every day for 2 years. I craved either attention when we went longer than 2 days without talking. Slowly they began treating me worse and getting mad at me for everything I said and not replying to them fast. We weren't romantic but we often blurred lines and never acknowledged it. I always went back. About 8 months ago I finally stood up for myself and I haven't heard from them since. At first I was glad. I felt free. Then I started to miss them and contact them. They ignored me. I kept trying for a couple months until I completely stopped. I think about them from time to time and want to keep trying but I never know if I should or just leave it be. What should I do?

If they ghosted you like that and refused contact even though you tried many times I'd give it up. Make some new friends to not feel lonely and don't chase that one specific person that cut you out as soon as you stood up for yourself. Maybe it was just like a short fling but in terms of friendship instead of dating lol
