Venting I lost everything and yet I can't die

The only method I have is hanging with shoelaces, but I've read it's not reliable and there's a chance I end up with brain damage. Desperate times call for desperate measures, but if I end up as a vegetable my parents will do this. Do I have to live to not hurt others? Do I have to live hoping the next month will be better (and it never end up being)?

I'm really going insane.

I think partly this is due to the self-preservation instinct (aka the survival instinct) and it's really really difficult (even for people who have more reliable and better methods) to overcome. As for the method of choice, I would agree with you that it is not reliable, especially given the options that you have currently. I would advise not to impulsively go with any attempt (for any method) since that could lead to more problems and suffering.

For me personally it's because I'm under intense suicide watch, so I can't buy the SN (I did before and my parents found out) and die at least a little bit more peacefully.

Amazing song...I never thought about it in this context. Ugh. There's so much joy and beauty in the world. The same guy can go see Stop Making Sense and hang himself.
