Venting i just want to be loved..

i want a sweet, caring boyfriend more than anything in the world. i wanna be held. i wanna be shown love. but since i'm ugly, i don't deserve that.
if i was pretty and had a bf, almost all of my problems would be gone. i wouldn't have social anxiety. i wouldn't be depressed. i wouldn't even be on this forum haha.

I'm sorry @libitina , I really wish we didn't live in a society that was so "looks-conscious," or 'oriented!' Believe me, I can get, and or understand your frustration & your pain. I just wish it didn't have to be this way. . .

Change the word 'boyfriend' to 'girlfriend' or 'partner' and it also exactly describes me . Its sad . I'm sorry . I wish I could say something more than 'you are not alone' because its not much consolation I know.

I wish there were something like universal basic income, but for touch & affection. A friend was horrified at that, because he thought I was just talking about benefiting lonely guys. (And who cares about them? ) Until I pointed out that, for an improved society, I'd be happy to snuggle & be playfully silly with GALS I'm not ordinarily attracted to. After all, gals crave time/attention like guys crave sex

Jokes aside it would probably help with people's general health. On top of feelings of loneliness or just wanting affection, it's not healthy to go extended periods of time untouched. Top that off with being chronically online (no judgment, guilty as charged) and its a legitimate recipe for depression. Yeah, I feel OP, I do secretly yearn for something real. But even just a genuine friend who I can look at and touch without a screen interfering would probably save my life. You don't realize how much you need companionship until you've been starved of it
