I do have some money saved up at least. She could always take the animals back home and move in her family, start a small business and be okay.

I imagine the amount of burden, untangling everything would be. I built a business from scratch and control everything, she works for me. My employees, money, assets, clients, animals, contracts, the amount of pressure that would immediately fall on everyone around me is hard to swallow.

I guess I'm just at the beginning of considering things. I still have time to plan, I'm just venting, saying hi and thinking out loud.

How do you manage to minimize chaos when the reason you're CTB is due to the chaos?

Welcome, and sorry you've been pushed to be here.

The following is not legal advice: If all the assets for your business are in your name, the best way to reduce chaos would be to start the process to have everything transferred to either your next of kin, or somebody you absolutely trust with such assets. This of course may raise suspicions and create chaos in and of itself, but at the point you're at now, there's no way out without chaos involved. So instead you're going to just need to make sure all the paperwork is at least ready in the event of, and that means talking to a lawyer about things like your will. You can have specific assets designated to specific people who you think could manage to fallout best, so you don't have to drown a single person with it all.

You will also need to ensure that things like legislation, insurance policies, etc do not have clauses against suicide as that will stymie the transfer of your belongings. This is why some people who CTB have to make it look accidental so that the law and companies don't screw the beneficiaries out of what would be rightfully theirs. There is of course, much much more to all of this, but this is just the basics that I can personally think of.

In your situation I would get her progressively more involved in the management of the business. You can probably figure out excuses for justifying such a transition. I imagine the whole process being definitely soul crushing for you, knowing the ultimate goal. Anyway doing something like this could be beneficial even in the remote case that an unwanted accident happens to you.

may i ask why you wanna ctb? maybe i'm missing something but the way you describe your situation it seems like you're in a pretty good place. i don't mean to sound insensitive or invalidate your feelings, but from the information you've given ctb seems to me to be a drastic solution

Have you thought about trying to cut out the chaos and change your life before you try killing yourself? Because I think you know, you'd just be passing the buck on to those around you. And you're not able to cope with it, so it's likely they won't be able to either.

Things that are completely possible to do:
- Sell your business
- Rehome animals
- Simplify your lifestyle
- Ask for help
- Admit you can't cope with how things are
- Declare bankruptcy

People have an almost infinite capacity to adapt. You have built yourself a strong web of responsibilities that feels impossible to break through. But you can. You can say, I tried this way of life and it turns out it's unsustainable. OK, so let that stuff go (along with any ego and self image attached) and try something else.

You say you have savings. Use them as a buffer while you try to find a way to live which you can cope with. Take it easy 🌹

I've always been pretty suicidal. Last time it was serious was 4 years ago when my business and therefore whole life was in shambles, then, I lucked out, found a big client, it gave me purpose, money and the ability to develop my business more.

Developing the business hasn't happened quickly enough and that client is extremely unstable. I'm still fighting but getting ready for the only other contingency I've ever known.

I honestly can't imagine any other kind of life. When business is thriving and things are under control, I love it and feel like I'm living my purpose. I can't do a normal job. I'm not but lt for it. It has to be all or nothing.

I just got (almost done) the 6 month process of opening an office of my own. I was renting before. It's like coming out of a warzone that no one cares you've been in.

During the process I was extremely stretched thing with managing the rest of the business and trying to optimize it. Marketing, recruiting, account management, employee problems, client problems, client negotiations and now finally, that I'm almost done and I can breath and refocus my priorities, our biggest client has become terrifyingly unstable, like all that was for nothing. I'm working on getting new clients to potentially replace them but not sure I can do it fast enough. I'm top of that, big, out of nowhere problems keep striking down. It's like a war with no respite. I'm stretched thin but trying to hold it together. CTB is a contingency plan if all else fails, it always has been.
Welcome to Sasu!

Why do you wanna die?
Thanks for the welcome. Replied in pretty good detail a couple times below.

Thanks, replied in pretty good detail below. I'm feeling a bit better today but it's always one major catastrophe away from not being that way

When life is scary and unpredictable It can be a comfort to know the option to CBT is there. It can give us a sense of control in the midst of chaos. I wonder if there is something else though that can help you feel the level of security or peace you need, even in the midst of chaos that appears to be going on around you...maybe look at how other successful business people deal with it. I know nothing of business my self but ive heard stories of others in similar situations to yourself - it's not all that uncommon, especially in a world that is becoming increasingly chaotic and unprectable. It might be helpful to do some research and find some mentors that understand and can speak to you.

It looks you have too many tasks! As the users here already commented, it might be a good idea to transfer whole or some of your assets and responsibilities to someone trustworthy. If you were to choose to CTB, actually your business will be transferred at last. So you don't have to sacrifice yourself for your business. Sorry I'm too naive to offer concrete advice for you to break through the difficulties. But we are here for you whenever you need some supports and relief.
