Very quick update here just to say I got out.

I left him.

I am free of him.

I am now a burden on my mum though as I am staying with her right now and it's NOT idea, as much as mum loves me, I am weathered and changed by my time out there in this shithole world.

I am not the daughter that left home.

I said I would fight to get out, I did it, but the disaster has only just begun for me though, I now have a crisis around housing, social welfare etc.

Will do a much bigger update later on.

Don't know what my future holds now.

I've done this before. Around my early 30's I ended up leaving a bad relationship with a guy. At some point I moved in with my mother after she had found me through a friend and convinced me to stay with her, it was awful. That's when I officially learned about narcissistic personality disorder and finally after years of confusion figured out my mother is a covert narcissist. Things started to finally make sense as to some of the reasons I was picking men and female friends as well who also have cluster B personality disorders. I just remember being completely hopeless, feeling like a loser that I was living at my mother's with no job, had nothing, and being 34. I finally escaped somehow and never looked back. Hopefully your mom is sane and will be supportive of you getting back on your feet. Good luck :)

It sounds like this could be a good change, I hope it works out for you. I'm in a similar situation to you with housing and have recently applied for government housing, what country are you in?

I get that. My parents aren't Cluster B, but my extended family are. My first romantic relationship was with someone who had antisocial personality disorder. I was 14 and he was 18. Since then I've been with at least two other Cluster B men. Once you become accustomed to the behavior, you tend to gravitate towards it, regardless of how awful it is

Oh Dormouse, I'm so happy you're out of that situation! I know things are far from ideal, but I hope things start to improve for you. Maybe there's even the chance that with a little bit of breathing room a path away from the bus stop will become apparent.

Yeah I am out of there, not sure what's next for me but this is way way better than being in that house! He is having a meltdown now without me, he is BROKE, in a shit load of debt, he is swapping places with me at the bottom of the hole, I am climbing out somewhat. x

Better to have that SOB in the hole than for you to be held down in the hole by him standing on your head.

Very, very glad to hear you're starting to climb out.
