I don't understand.why other people feel normal/fine in their bodies while I feel so much dysphoria. People around me are older and happy in what I see as "a body I wouldn't feel comfortable in" . What's wrong with me! Help!

My experience is you care less about what you look like as you get older. It's just not that important. I looked better and was more insecure when I was younger. I look worse and am less insecure about it now. I'll bet in 20 years I'll look much worse and not care at all.

It also varies by neuroticism levels, which are largely set very early in life. People with low neuroticism generally will be less bothered about appearance issues than those with high neuroticism.

What is neuroticism
Highly neurotic people tend to feel disgusted, overwhelmed, worried, anxious, depressed, angry, sensitive, self-conscious, etc., when lowly neurotic people wouldn't in the same situation. It's a personality trait. Everyone is somewhere along the scale from highest to lowest. It's largely out of our control.

I've hated my body and always will, and never felt comfortable in it. I actually think people who are happy in their bodies are nuts.

🤔 I'm feeling MORE dysphoric as I age. In my 20s I couldn't give it a second thought. In my 60's I look in the mirror and I think, WTF. In my 80's . . . . (if). 🤷‍♂️

I am very neurotic from a line of highly neurotic people, largely suspect I should of been born a woman based on how my mind works and a multitude of other factors (I do not identify as trans), and have almost no body dysphoria. Just a lot of indifference.

Idk bro, I don't think there's a clear rhyme or reason to these things.
