Hi,
I'm trying to find out how to make Hydrogen Sulphide with everyday household chemicals / detergents.
I don't need excessive ramblings without actually giving the exact 'How to do it'.
I don't need anything but this.
What common, off the shelf products from a supermarket / hardware store when mixed, will react to
produce H2S.
I am not interested in any tangental links with opinions or links to online stores. I'm based in Europe
and I'm not interested in American shops, Amazon or any of that. Nor am I interested in setting up some
elaborate bunsen burner type lab experiment.
I've watched some videos produced by fire departments as an education to emergency crews about how two products
mixed in a bucket react inside a car and produce H2S nearly instantaneously and produce enough gas above 1000 ppm in a short time.
I hear people going on about the smell, if you can smell H2S it is at a very low level. As the ppm increases, H2S dulls the sense of smell and
so you think there is no more gas but in fact it has increased.
I would appreciate a knowledgeable response.

Thanks,
This was easily found by googling but I'm looking for the exact type of off the shelf, ready to go, products from either a supermarket or hardware store.

If you live in Europe you'll have a helluva time making anything remotely potent like H2S. It can be generated a variety of ways, yes, but all feasible pathways require an acid or obscure chemicals.

One method involves mixing a sulfide with hydrochloric acid. For example, You can react iron sulfide(produced by mixing iron powder with sulfur and burning it) and concentrated hydrochloric acid. This will immediately produce a large quantity of hydrogen sulfide, more than lethal at just a few whiffs. Another method is simpler but still hard: mix aluminum powder with sulfur powder and burn it to yield aluminum sulfide. This will release hydrogen sulfide on contact with water, so 1)don't put the fire out with water and 2)do not store it unless you know what you're doing.
