Discussion How were you introduced to the forum?

I used to occasionally google painless ways to die as both morbid curiosity and to answer the unanswered questions brought up by my suicidal thoughts. I am also a frequenter of reddit and sometimes look up stuff there, and found a mention of this forum. I went here and lurked for a while and was in love with it because of how freely people are expressing their views, plans, etc. and also methods that indeed seemed pretty painless

Google. Was week or little over a week ago when i was feeling really like wanting to not be. And was researching on how to ctb with the less suffering possible. And i don't remember, though, if it was a direct link from google that brought me directly here or if was through a different site like reddit or quora.

I was on the original subreddit. As for what brought me here . . . it was probably that my reddit account was shadowbanned from /r/depression and then perma-banned sitewide when I tried to ask why I was shadowbanned. Nuked my account best as I could and lost my venting outlet, so I probably just searched to see if the old community migrated anywhere.

I think at this point, a massive fraction of the members on this site (myself included) were brought here by Tentacrul. The bozo trying to get this place taken down which resulted in a massive surge of new members. Thank you mister T for giving me a new community.

I was a lurker, I don't even remember how I came to find it, I think I saw a documentary and then looked into many sorts of forums. It's just now that I mustered up the courage to participate and it's very nice here.

As someone who was with SaSu since 2018, it would be when shiddet (Reddit) shut down the SaSu subs on their platform, then after lingering for a while on another similar sub (TTG - which about a year after it's inception was quarantined and then became inactive, less accessible), I found this platform, SaSu and then decided to join. I've been with SaSu for almost 5 years (not counting the hiatus I had in 2021 until mid 2022). Ever since then, SaSu has been this safe place where I have a voice as well as being able to share my thoughts and ideas with like-minded people with regards to the right to die.

The first time I heard about this website was from Tentacrul's youtube video but again nobody mentioned the name of this site in the comment section so months later i again stumbled on the same video and a simple Google search brought me here

To make it shorter. I talked with someone I met online somewhere else for a few years about this type of stuff. They had been posting about their own struggles and I took an interest in them. Recently they told me they were a member of this forum and invited me in since I hadn't heard of is before. I didn't know there were any successors of the old ASH news group.

I'm still a bit too intimidated to talk too much and my lack of social understanding from having Asperghers makes interacting with people nearly impossible. I'm always called either a freak, weird, or creepy just because I'm different from a NT. There are several users here that I've found interesting and would like to get to know otherwise. Unfortunately a good chunk of them I only really first noticed them from their goodbye threads.

I heard about it being talked about in I think near the end of 2021, around the time SN reports started popping up. I used to be in a few LJ support groups way back in the day so I got curious and wanted to see if the forums here were also a good safe space of that kind. I lurked for quite a bit before finally joining myself, though, mostly because I'm terribly socially anxious lol

from a story I read and was looking up detail until I found a link to a post from this forum. Got lucky too since I had just placed an order for a charcoal burner before I realized SN sounded better, and canceled it in time to get a refund.

I was looking for a less violent & more dependable way to die than shotgun & happened across SaSu. Lots of nice people & good info on various methods & methods that shouldn't be tried.
I found a couple of methods that looked good to me & interacted with people on this site. I realized I'm not as suicidal anymore, probably because of the people on this forum.
I do believe I eventually will CTB, but continue to enjoy chatting in the forum so I'm still here
